I know that Psalms has several verses claiming that God hates the wicked but one of the key verses is Malachi 1:2-3
2 I have loved you, saith the Lord.
Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us?
Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the Lord:
yet I loved Jacob,
3 And I hated Esau,
and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness
I was able to go study the original Hebrew of the word Hate, The Hebrew word is śânê’; The word hate means to have a personal enemy. Like when Jesus states if your not for me your against me (Matt 12:30). If the gospels were wrote in Hebrew it might have Jesus saying if your not for me I hate you. which seems pretty silly. So in summary my opinion of God's hate is one that has chosen to make decisions that intend to reduce or diminish God's Will. Therefore making themselves an enemy by their own actions. Let us also refrain from automorphism here, We can not imply humanistic characteristics to a non human entity. Our version of hate is most likely not God's version. Most human hate is derived from sin, like envy, jealousy, or indifference. God's is derived from Love, yes Love, He gave us dos and don'ts so that we may live life to the fullest. When we violate those it is comparable to a father watching his child run straight toward a cliff leading to certain death. He will try to save the child and anyone that tries to interfere with his will to save the child will become his enemy.
Last point here, Yes I believe God does hate the wicked, but he also said "Love thy Enemy"
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; - Matthew 5:44So Hate and Love properly.
